Atempo
Medieval Music
PROJECTS
Following a period of studies in Paris, our group, ATEMPO, developed several projects in early music.
Bellow is a summary of some of our projects:
- An overview of Medieval Music from the climax of Gregorian chant to the autumn of the Middle Ages. A course in 4 or 8 modules, with live and recorded musical examples, addressed to all interested in the subject.
- A Voyage Through the Middle Ages a series of four didactic concerts aimed at children, and focusing on four important moments of the Middle Ages: Courtly Love, Church Music, Tavern Music and The First Madrigals.
- France and Italy - Friends and Foes - As a continuation of the preceding voyage, musical examples are given, showing the evolution of musical styles, with the ensemble FERMATA performing pieces of the Renaissance and the Baroque.
- Concert-Lectures which help locate the authors and their work in the vast universe of the music of the Middle Ages.
- Francesco Landini and the Italian Trecento
- The Music of Francis of Assisi
- Guillaume de Machaut and Ars Nova in France
- Songs of Praise and Pilgrimage
If you are interested in any of these projects and wish to get in touch with us, send us a message.
